Does anyone walk with their head tilted to one side rather than holding it straight? My husband prefers to walk that way.
Also, thank you DaleBurton!
Thank you, Ginny!
My husband will sometimes lean his whole body to the side, not just his head. I make him stop and straighten up since it messes with his balance.
It’s unlikely to be a preference. Parkinson’s causes neck pain that causes patients to put their head into a different position because of the pain. The head is normally pushed forward, but I suppose it could have something to do with how he sleeps.
Anytime there is a postural change you should get a referral to a PT.
A head tilted to one side when walking can be related to changes in posture and postural instability, which are common in Parkinson's disease. These changes can affect balance and lead to difficulties while standing up, walking, and turning.
