Colorado City, AZ

I live in Aurora Colorado and I can’t find a support group. I have had Parkinson’s for twenty years I would like to be able to talk to people with Parkinson’s face to face. I would like to meet people who have not heard of my Parkinson’s team and tell them about it. I would appreciate any suggestions.

I think that’s an excellent idea. I use both. You might start by deciding on an information date then make up an information paper with what, when, where, time and date (make lots of copies) then go to doctor offices first and ask if you can post them, then try grocery stores and any other places with a place to post (as many as you can, and far out from town as you can). Have the meeting a few times before you decide to give up or continue on (I hope). Ask the attendees what kind of group they want; information, social, mixed etc. how long, and how often etc. Does that help any?

I am not in a PD support group. I want to find one in the next year. I had a stroke in 2011 and attended stroke support group. Support groups are the best!
