My father had Parkinson’s and spent his final years in assisted living. He was alone and they took very good care of him.

I wouldn’t worry about him being too dependent on you.

I imagine it depends on your relationship and your finances. Do you want to be with him 24/7? How will he handle it if you do not move with him? Assisted living can mean anything from a single room to an apartment to a cottage, so that makes a difference too.

He will be in assisted living in a one bedroom apartment. It’s a very nice place. They offer very good care. I’m just afraid that he will still be too dependent on me. Also I am having back and shoulder problems. It’s very hard
