I am worried most about my recovery from surgery for a hip replacement. I have been sleeping in a recliner. But the recliner I'm sleeping in now requires you to push down with your legs to stand. I have a hospital bed with a trapeze. I have not been able to sleep in my bed because of so much pain in my knee, hip, and back. I've been thinking about buying wedges to support my body. I do have a power chair that I can rest but it is not comfortable to sleep in.
Good morning, I've had several surgeries and I'm all of them that hip replacement was probably the easiest of any of them. It felt so much better I was up walking around in no time. I've had two shoulder replacements in I can't say that about them they have been a real challenge. You're going to be fine and I wish you the best of luck.
Hi Sheilah,
It was raining here this morning. So I didn’t work in the garden today. I noticed my irises around the flagpole are getting ready to bloom! They will be purple. They came from my husband’s grandmother’s yard originally.
I hope to divide them this fall and share them with Pam.
I’m sure your husband and sister in law will be excellent help after surgery. Perhaps when that is corrected your knee will be better too. If one thing is out of alignment it messes with everything.

Sheileh, I sleep in a power recliner and use a cushion to relieve the pressure on my back. I play very low classical music when I want to sleep. But, I find that praying and meditation helps me to sleep more than anything else.
I will get my above-ground planter Thursday. It is an 8'x2'x1'. I have a spot in the front yard near the front door so I can keep watch over it. I can imagine your irises growing. Mother would always show me her irises. I have never been good with flowers. I do have better luck with vegetables. You are right about the knee pain getting better after hip replacement. Thanks for keeping me updated on your garden. I do need some advice on growing my garden..
MelbaBryant My surgeon has told me a hip replacement is the easiest. It's good to hear this from someone else who has had the surgery. The surgeon said they would have me up and walking as soon as I woke up from surgery. They had me up after knee replacement also. But, after almost 2 years, I still have pain in the knee.
