Burn out is normal. He needs to find someone to fill in for him sometimes to give a break. There are many caregiver services that can help.

Do as much for yourself as you can. Encourage him to continue any hobbies or activities that he enjoys. Give him time to himself.

Me time is important for you both so you can come back together refreshed. I am fortunate to have both my son and husband as caregivers so they can spell one another. Something I feel is so important is to always always say thank you for everything they do no matter how small with real sincerity. Knowing they are truly appreciated makes a big difference every day. Also finding something to laugh about and something to be grateful for everyday lightens the load. We also plan special activities that take little effort to keep life as normal as it can be helps even if it’s just watching a movie together. They may seem like small things but do keep life fresh.
