there is research that you can participate in that identifies if there are known genetic causes and it is the PDGeneration trial. You can submit a sample and within a few months they will let you know if there is a known genetic cause. When we spoke to the researcher who said my husband did not have a known genetic cause she indicated that there could possibly be some other genetic causes that they have not yet discovered. They've identified 5 or 6 genes that are related to Parkinson's. As AI said, about 10-15% of cases are genetic.
