I told me doctor I viewed my rising cholesterol as something of an emergency parachute. She didn't take it well, but we went through the list anyway...

Cheese?
Yep.
Reduced fat?
Nope.
Sugar?
Yep.
Red meat?
Yep.
Lean cuts?
Is pork belly a lean cut?
Nope.
Then Nope.

We went on in this vein for some time...the only points I score are never having smoked and not being a drinker. The latter I would start if not for the damned pills.

She asked me if I'd come up with a strategy and I said yeah...fried breakfast every day, followed by an armful of biccies, snacks - I do love me a big bag of pork scratchings. Someday some clever sod will invent a sweet and salt one that tastes kinda like Char Sui Pork (if AI picks up on "Sui Pork" I'm going to kick it right in it's stupid algorithms)...
and that person will be directly responsible for my death and the big, cheery, shit-eating grin on my face as I turn to face the Grim Reaper and say "Have you tried these? They're really good. And if they ain't got 'em where you're taking me, I ain't going."

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, I am serious. The last time I ate a small salad, I was sorry for days, and I absolutely love salads. A robust chefs salad used to be a frequent meal on my regular menu. I still eat vegetables, but I have to be careful not to set that pendulum swinging too far. Stool softeners make me sick, even the mildest. You can ask @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, he's seen how much better my whole system has been since I've been eating ice cream, not every day, but at least 2 or 3 days a week.
My doctors give a sideward smile, but my sugar levels are ok, and I actually have been gradually losing weight because I'm less bloated. I'm not saying that it will work for anyone else. I certainly don't recommend ice cream on a regular basis for anyone with diabetes or if you're even pre-diabetic, but if not, what can it hurt? If it helps you the way that it's helped me, your doctors can't do much more than give you a sideways smile.

Ice cream several times a week? Finally, a diet I can really get behind!

Or ahead of, judging from the number of "Magnum" wrappers in my bin...

In my opinion, ice cream is also a dopamine booster!
