Has anyone else experienced this? My arms are swollen as is my face...to the point my phone doesn't recognize me! I don't know if it is my meds and which one is causing it. I had two changes. One is a pain pill for my back, the other is my Parkinson's. Even before swelling, the pills didn't work. back it up and my balance is really off so I fell early January. This sounds like a serious situation that requires immediate medical attention. Severe swelling (edema) throughout your body, especially when it appears after medication changes, needs to be evaluated by your healthcare provider right away. I too have heart issues besides Parkinson’s. I have a pacemaker and congestive heart failure.
LisaRiley is exactly right. I have heart disease (In addition to Parkinson's) and some swelling in my feet and ankles, which subsides from time. If you can't get to a cardiologist, reducing your salt and liquid intake is something you can do on your own. My cardiologist told me, no more than 2 liters of liquids and 3,000 mg of salt daily.
