My husband said this came on suddenly and has progressively gotten worse. At times it felt like he had a huge ring on all of his fingers that were 2x too small. He can't type, hang on to his mouse, or grab tiny objects anymore. His neurologist has conducted many tests, but so far has not come up with a conclusive answer. If anyone can help or offer suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

Pain is a common symptom of Parkinson's disease, affecting about 60% of people with the condition. The burning sensation your husband is experiencing is frequently reported by others with PD. This can be caused by several PD-related factors:

• Muscle stiffness
• Dyskinesia (involuntary movements)
• Central pain (from nervous system processing issues)
• Neuropathy (nerve damage) Many MyParkinsonsTeam members have reported similar burning sensations in their extremities, particularly in their arms and hands. The difficulty with fine motor control that your husband is experiencing with typing and gripping objects is also a recognized symptom.

It's important to work with your husband's neurologist to determine the specific cause of his pain and develop an appropriate treatment plan. This might include muscle relaxants for muscle spasms or a personalized exercise plan developed by a physical therapist.
