Normally my hair has been thick, but during this year it began to fall out. It is thinning on the front, high up on the sides, & top of my head, to the degree that you can see my scalp in places. I have read that a dermatologist is a good place to start & my apmt is mid Dec if I have any left by then👨🏻‍🦲🙀

Members with Parkinson's connected over the shared concern of hair loss, exploring whether it stems from the condition itself, medications, stress, age, or nutritional deficiency. Several members shared practical remedies they are trying, including Nioxin (a 3-step shampoo system available at Walmart and Amazon), essential oils like 'Hair Envy' and 'Healthy Scalp' with fractionated coconut oil, peppermint oil added to conditioner, and hair vitamins. A recurring theme was warmth and humor in facing this challenge, with many finding comfort in knowing they are not alone.

Thank you to AnneKristine and GinnyOwen. I’ll let you know if it works or if I just have 3 hairs on my head. Made myself laugh at the image of that. 👶🏻🤭 Hugs right back at you. 💜

Hello friends. Thank you for your responses to my question about hair loss. It is really a surprise. I can’t wait to hear what my Dermatologist says. I know my nutrition is poor. I have to make a lot of changes there. I love Mediterranean food & my husband does too, but we both grew up on New Orleans type food so that is a problem. I can eat all Mediterranean w/ all the good nutritious ingredients every day, but he gets hungry for gumbo, jambalaya, fried things, etc. No way I can cook 2 separate suppers. It’s hard to cook one meal. I feel spastic & I hurt bad after cooking. He had been doing all the cooking, Housework, shopping, & chauffeuring me to apmts. Then his back got so bad from different accidents that he can’t do those things. His scans show that there is nothing that can be done. 4 Neurosurgeons, Orthopedic, & Oncologist watching him for a year since one area was questionable. The consensus was “ don’t let anyone cut on your back, it will only make it even worse. So he has a Medication Management Doctor that has him on strong pain meds. So……guess who has to drive when I’m not supposed to to, vacuuming, mopping one room has me about to fall on my face. Bathrooms, etc. I try a little at a time & rest. It is exhausting & causing me pain. I’m now ordering our groceries & having them delivered. Walmart charges right under $100 per year to order on my iPad & deliver. I am going to have to get a cleaning lady & I hate to since they are so expensive now. I have to be very careful I don’t fall so I’m covered with bruises. I look like a leopard. I was helpless for years but my Rytary has me able to do some things, but I pay for it after. Jerry was my caregiver, He had to bathe me, dress me, everything. I fell constantly, so I am so much better with Rytary 3 pills 4 times a day. So I guess we are both patients & caregivers. The Lord has a real sense of humor it seems. I didn’t intend to write all this so my long emails have not gone away Sorry!
Blessings to all & May your days be filled with peace, & your symptoms & pain less.

Hi Thea! Thank you for this information. I don’t blame you. I like my silver/gray hair too & wouldn’t want it darker either. Thanks for taking the time to message the info to me. Have a nice & peaceful weekend. 🥰
