@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member - It is not so unfortunate. If you want more Dopamine generating cells, then exercise - your brain will produce them all by itself, without a magic cure, a magic med, or magic surgery. Just the effort of exercising stimulates the brain to regenerate more brain cells that produce dopamine. It doesn't even have to be a lot of exercise, just enough to be somewhat of an effort.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, You're just full of questions today! Did you find a Parkinson's question jackpot, or what? Keep'em coming. Not only is your brain stirred up, but you're causing the rest of us to wind up our thinking boxes!

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member - It probably can be researched to treat PD, although I don't think neuroplasticity can be Directed to regenerate Dopamine generating cells. The problem is, if a cure is found for PD (or diabetes, or Alzheimer's, etc) none of us would spend all that money on meds that only treat symptoms & have terrible side effects. Fortunately, some diseases are pushing forward for cures anyway, notably epilepsy. Hopefully PD will be soon. Personally, I think there is already a cure for PD, & has been for decades. Why can't we re-find it?
Another problem with Neuroplasticity is that it requires effort on the part of the patient. So many people just want some miracle drug or surgery rather than to put forth an effort on their own, which as we know is hard when you have PD. But that effort on our part helps more than anything else.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, I believe that producing dopamine is a part of neuroplasticity.
