Dry eyes are a bothersome problem I have also had an issue with mites which can be precipitated by eye dryness. The treatment for mites is crazy expensive so best advised to use liquid tears like Systane or better yet, liquid gel drops.

Peripheral vision issues are actually quite common with Parkinson's, so you're definitely not alone in this! Many people with Parkinson's report seeing shadows, shapes, or movement in their peripheral vision — sometimes before they even received their diagnosis.

Peripheral vision issues are actually quite common with Parkinson's, so you're definitely not alone in this! Many people with Parkinson's report seeing shadows, shapes, or movement in their peripheral vision — sometimes before they even received their diagnosis.
Here are some examples shared by MyParkinsonsTeam members:
- Seeing silhouettes of birds, moths, or small animals in the corner of their eye
- Noticing small black shadows that cause a startle reaction
- Seeing people or figures standing nearby when seated These peripheral vision experiences are linked to how Parkinson's affects the brain, which aligns with what your ophthalmologist mentioned about it being a brain-related issue.
It's worth discussing this with your neurologist as well, since they may be able to review your current medications. Sometimes adjusting Parkinson's medications can help manage these kinds of symptoms.
In the meantime, a few things that may help with hallucinations or visual disturbances include:
- Keeping lights on, especially at night
- Maintaining a regular sleep schedule
- Staying engaged with stimulating activities in the evening

I have the same issue with my eyes too. Just like @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, I use Systane.
