Taking extra carbidopa to manage nausea is something some people with Parkinson's explore, since carbidopa helps prevent levodopa from being converted before it reaches the brain, which can reduce nausea as a side effect.

However, adjusting carbidopa on its own isn't a standard recommendation, and doing so without guidance could affect how well your medication works overall. There are some practical strategies that may help with nausea from carbidopa/levodopa that are worth discussing with your doctor:

- Timing your dose — taking it with a small snack (but not a high-protein meal) may ease stomach upset
- Dose adjustments — your doctor may tweak the amount or frequency
- Extended-release formulas — like Rytary or Crexont, which release medication more slowly and may be gentler on the stomach

It's really important not to change your dose on your own. A quick chat with your neurologist or movement disorder specialist is the safest way to tackle nausea without disrupting your symptom control.
