I have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s in Mar. I take Ropinirole 1 mg., 3 times a day now. But my tremor hasn’t subsided yet. So we are adding Carbodopa/Levodopa to the existing to control the tremor. My other symptoms have greatly improved since starting the Ropinirole, but not the tremor. Hoping this helps. Any idea as to how long the nausea lasts would b helpful.

Members diagnosed with Parkinson's shared their experiences with carbidopa/levodopa nausea, with many finding relief through practical strategies like eating bland foods such as crackers or toast before taking the medication and switching to extended-release versions. Several members emphasized the importance of timing meals around doses, noting that protein eaten too close to the medication can reduce its effectiveness, and some worked with their doctors to add anti-nausea medications like Omeprazole. A recurring theme was the value of staying in close contact with a neurologist to adjust dosing, and members offered strong emotional support to those struggling to access proper care.

The cabo part of the. Med is the part that is supposed to help with nausea. When I started the c/l it made me so dizzy I couldn't walk. The Dr changed to the XL and that worked. There are meds that help with nausea that comes from meds. I forgot about that part about the nausea part. Every now and then I get at little bit of nausea and don't know why. I forgot about the protein part 2. It has slowed down the shaking.

I take my C/L 25/100 3x’s a day and eat a piece of toast or a few crackers before taking and wait 45 min to to eat protein based foods. I helps with nausea for me. Just remember to not eat Protein based foods within 45 min before or at least 1 hour after taking meds. It takes some planning but once you get in the groove of it! Contact your Neurologist if you are really having problems with it. Good luck.
