My husband said his bones feels like they are shattering on the inside he’s constantly hurting but continues to fight to stay smile and laugh. How can I help him. What can I do to help him? Yesterday was his 57th birthday and today is my 45 birthday

First, happy birthday to both of you. I hope you can still find a little joy in celebrating your lives together.

When someone describes pain as feeling like their bones are shattering, I would make sure his doctor knows exactly how severe and constant it is. Pain can be part of Parkinson’s or Parkinsonism, but it can also come from something else that needs to be checked. He should not have to silently fight through that much pain.

The best things you can do are listen to him, believe what he is feeling, help him explain it clearly to his doctor, and simply be beside him. You may not be able to take away his pain, but your love, patience, and support mean more than you probably realize.

Carla, I, too, have significant daily (and nightly) pain. The only thing I have found that takes the edge off is using essential oils. Frankincense in particular, mixed with a carrier oil, I use coconut oil. I use it 3 times a day. The last time just before bed. It really helps smooth out the edges of the pain. I hope this helps your husband! Let me know if you want more info. Happy birthday to you both! God bless!🙏

Being there for support is a huge contribution that will benefit the both of you. I go with my husband to all his doctor appointments to listen, ask questions, and be there after the appointment to discuss what the doctor had to say. My husband sounds like yours always trying to keep a positive face. But I can see the worry and the pain. I can also see how it makes him feel better to know I am there to make sure things go right. He has a lot on his plate and does his best to minimize its effect on the family. So, I do my best to support him, well to support us. We are a team, always there for each other. I do not think you can do more than that. Stay positive and all will work out as well as it possibly can.
