I really like the sketchers shoes, easy on and off
I'm with you, @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, I have never been able to wear sandals with the strap "in my big toe" which is exactly how how it feels. I sent @A MyParkinsonsTeam Member to Walmart to get me some new sandals earlier this summer. Apparently, they were already sold out here in Missouri, but maybe they keep them year-round further south where you are. The first priority was cheap, but I needed them to fit too. The sandals I usually get at Walmart have a combination of 2 leather, for looks, and elastic, for comfort, straps with one closer to the toes and the other closer to the ankle. As I said, there no sandals as I described to be found at Walmart, but Bart surprised me with what he did find. Ill attach a picture.
They are a little more difficult to get on, but he helps me and they are quite comfortable!!
Hi Deborah What you will have to do is to go into a shoe store and get your feet measured and tell the sales person that you have parkinson and you want a comfortable shoe /sandal and make sure you get a wide fitting pair so all in all you will come out with lovely shoes /sandal and you will be walking for your exercise hope that helps you Deborah. I only wear Sketchers. I buy them at the outlet store. It is a long trek to get there but it is worth the drive. I can’t bend over to tie shoes on anymore and Sketchers have slip on. They also have sandals too. I don’t buy them at other store because they are seconds when not purchased at a Sketchers store. All the ones I have a washable, you just take out the insoles put them in the washing machine. My husband washes them with the towels. They them out in the sun to dry. Hope this helps!!
