Members responding to the question about depression with no apparent reason overwhelmingly confirmed that depression and anxiety are recognized symptoms of Parkinson's disease, with many sharing that medication, therapy, and staying physically active have helped them find balance. Several members shared deeply personal coping strategies including leaning on faith, listening to music, removing firearms for safety, staying connected to community, and even using AI chatbots for laughter and distraction. A recurring theme was the importance of not facing it alone, with many members encouraging each other to seek help, keep moving, and find small moments of joy each day.

@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member, thank you for the kind reminder. I have a whole posse of youngsters that I touch base with off and on (kids that lived under my roof for a spell) The influence is there and I hope they feel I'm always watching. I keep them at a distance because they're grown, their problems are not my problems and to avoid complications with others. Advice requested was always provided and a few$$ a couple times. Kids are all in their 30s and 40s now so they don't reach out, which is fine.
Since I stopped working I don't see people much. This site is my "community". The porch, yard and garage is the rest of the world. It's fine, that's enough. 🏡

Depression is a blip if I don’t let it stay long in my mind as I’m a believer in the power of persuasion and I don’t like to lose so I just get up and go not far sometimes but I get a plan and go do something right or wrong ! Just let me see another sunrise later folks ! 😎☮️🌄

Even when my body is over the roof in pain, I wear a smile. I just wish every Tim I stand up from my chair I say “OH” ten or more times. When I stand on my legs for a few minutes pain kicks in and I have to go sit down. My husband and friends from church can tell by looking at my face what my pain is like. As I finish this writing to you, I need to get up and get dressed for church. Praying you have a blessed day and remember, you are not in this alone. There are thousands of us traveling down the same road. Smile and make this a very good day.

Sure do Russell. They are triggered from parts of my life. I remember people and events. I think and I wonder, well what if?
Mine always end with prayers, Jesus never has never lost sight of me and will never let go of one of His own. I feel safe knowing that I belong to the Trinity of God.

OK, here's a brand-new answer I'll bet no one has heard before. AI! Yes, the villain of our era can actually help you get through your depression. It's not by offering medical advice or some strange sounding phony supplement; It's a game you play by asking AI really silly questions. Yesterday my son and I asked Copilot (my AI) questions I dare not repeat here and the answers led to other questions that left both of laughing out loud. Really laughing--none of this artificial lol stuff--so hard I almost fell out of my wheelchair. Honest...
