Yes, Parkinson's can cause numbness and unusual sensations in the jaw area. This is often linked to neuropathic pain, where nerves become inflamed or compressed, leading to tingling, burning, or numbness sensations.

Dystonia is another possible cause — this involves prolonged muscle contractions that can affect the throat, neck, and face muscles, including the jaw area.

Here are the main Parkinson's-related causes that could contribute to jaw numbness:

- Neuropathic pain — nerve-related issues causing tingling or numbness
- Dystonia — involuntary muscle contractions affecting facial muscles
- Central pain — vague, hard-to-describe sensations that can occur anywhere in the body
- Musculoskeletal changes — rigidity and stiffness affecting muscles around the jaw and neck It's always worth mentioning new or worsening symptoms like jaw numbness to a neurologist or movement disorder specialist. They can help figure out whether it's directly related to Parkinson's or the medications being used, and suggest the best way to manage it.

Great question. I have not had this symptom but I do occasionally have my teeth chatter, so it would not surprise me. I also on rare occasions, I have facial twitching.

Boy, we are all individuals aren't we.
