Mine started after a COVD vaccine. I was freezing the next morning. My body felt like it was literally freezing, below zero degrees. Now, my body is having freezing episodes. What does COVID vaccines have to do with Parkinson’s? I am talking about the temperature not freezing while ambulating. 😊

Members connected over the question of temperature-related freezing episodes with Parkinson's, with many sharing that feeling cold is a very common and well-documented part of the condition. Several members described practical ways to stay warm, including electric blankets, space heaters, layers of fleece clothing, and creams like Mother Bear rubbed into cold areas, while one member shared a helpful link about temperature dysregulation and Parkinson's. A recurring theme was that the body's inability to regulate temperature, whether running too cold or suddenly sweating at night, is a real PD challenge that many members and their caregivers navigate daily.

GordonGS, JimCross, About the same time my tremor started up but well before my official diagnosis, I was living in California in Contra Costa County at the time. It's very warm there in the spring through fall. I have always run warm as far as indoor or outdoor temps are concerned, so for me, being sensitive to cold inside or outside is a very rare thing. I noticed that I was literally freezing at times to the point of shivering and it wasn't from tremors. I read up on the phenomena and it is a very real thing with Parkinson's (running cold or hot)!

So, just with the PD, I am cold in the morning when I get up and in the early evening at dinner time. I have my thermostat set at 79, for my A/C. I have to wear a jacket when I’m cold. Not sure any of the vaccines have anything to do with that.

For me I was always running cold, even in summer heat.
