@A MyParkinsonsTeam Member. You are going to need to look beyond what your husband is accusing you of and what he has transformed into as far as how he feels about things. The PD has changed him. He's not the same fellow that he used to be..

I have a suggestion for you. You might want to tell his doctor about these paranoid treatments from your husband . There is a new drug on the market that was just released and approved by the FDA last year. It is a psychotic medication called NUPLAZID. Talk to his doctor and ask him/her if your husband could benefit from taking this medication. Let me know how things turn out. Sterling

HI i empathise with your predicament. However some time ago I went through a real paranoid state but without spiralling out of control so me, my partner and friends did not realise. When eventually my grown up
children saw there was a problem they spoke to the Parkinsons society in england who said straight away that it was likely I had some sort of infection as these react with medication and especially the medication I was taking Ropinirol. I went to my gp and they found I had a UTI as soonas it was treated i settled down. the amount of medication was adjusted and i have been ok since. So it may be worth asking some questions. i tend to assume it is the parkinsons, but often it is a side effect of the meds!

We have tried Nuplazid. It made his other symptoms worse. Had to discontinue .

My husband is doing the same thing.. that is what I came to this site looking for. He is on seroquel. I thought it worked for about 3 weeks but really he is just trying to be careful so he doesn't go to the hospital. He thinks I have a boyfriend that comes in at night when he is asleep. He feels we are drugging him. He can even smell something that he thinks make him sick. He can get very agitated... not violent but angry enough that it can make me nervous. He is only 62 and certainly can't afford assistive living.. we have a care taker when I'm working but only me when I'm home. Can't imagine how long I can do ... any advice?

@Redkittty my husband is on that med and he is doing great on it. he is on it because he was seeing things, action on his dreams, but he so far has not accused me of things. Thank God. In his early years he used to do that but hat was a jealious thing.
