I just recently had to increase my dosage of Sinement and @@Requip. Sinement is now 50/200 CR and is taken every 2 hours from 6 to 8pm. (Which is 8 times a day) @@Requip is 1mg 3 times a day.

Hey Austin! Sinemet...The evil fixer, as I can it...Although I only take 25/100, I normally take 5 times a day...I switch it between 3 and 6 depending on how much energy I am asserting, what I've eaten and how I'm feeling in general...I do take it with the Neupro patch, which handles the "up and down" times of the Sinemet...My Dr gave me limits with which he was comfortable both on the low end of doses and the high end...I have been taking Sinemet since 2011, and it is starting to rear it's ugly head of side effects...The involuntary movements are noticeably worse...Need to start working on another option... It's a crap shoot...Luckily, I consider myself a gambler!!

I have had a mild case of PD for 3 years. I have been on 1 Sinemet 25-100 mg 3 times per day from the very beginning with no increase of either dosage or frequency. I have also been on 5 mg Selegiline 1 time per day for 2 1/2 years and 1/2 dose of.25 mg Mirapex 1 time per day for 1 year. So far so good.

My husband was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease almost 14 years ago and only takes 1 1/2 Sinemet 25-100 4 X's a day and 1 @ 8:00 PM to avoid keeping him awake at night. At one time, he was taking 3 pills 5 X's a day. We find that the doctors reduce the dosage when he is hospitalized. The 1 1/2- 4 times a day and 1-1 X each night seem to work fine most of the time but about once every month or more we may add an extra if he begins to shake an hour and a half after his last dose. The pills seem to create more problems at times when taken in higher doses. His problem now is hallucinations.
