I have hard time swallowing so I build up saliva to the point of having to put my head over the sink.I was told to get a bed that I can raise up so I won't aspirate in the middle of the night I tried botox in the saliva gland and it helped for about 10 weeks I went back at twelve weeks had the shots. but they didn't work so now they want to raise the dosage ..anybody experience this issue

My husband has become an avid gum chewer to constantly keep swallowing. It’s an easy bandaid for now.

I have a lot of salvia and i choke on it and water. I went to PT and she told me that people with Parkinson’s don’t swallow as much as they use to. She gave me 8 throat exercises to do which some are with a tongue depressor. I haven’t choked for about 4 months,! Thank God....

I had significant swallowing difficulty and had a rapid weight loss of 60# I also had Severe constipation. I was seen by my Gastroenterology specialist. My swallowing improved within 3 days. The medicine I am taking is Motegrity. It is not approved for prescribing for constipation but research is currently being done to see if it works on the same receptors that are in the bowel that affect swallowing. It was a Miracle for me.
Speech therapy wasn't helpful and Swallowing study showed slowing of food while slowing with food getting stuck. I also had the belly feeling full after eating only a few bites. ALL of these symptoms RESOLVED with Motegrity. Best new-they have a patient assistance program!!

I have problems with swallowing saliva which my GP thought was really odd . I’m not sure he believed me. I also have problems with drinking but not eating . As yet I only have problems with meat which l Find exhausting to chew.

Get a speech therapist, as they do exercises on the throat.
