I am thinking a service dog could help with forward mobility, also retrieving dropped items as well as motivation to keep moving?
Good morning, relative to a service dog it seems to be a fantastic idea if only for the idea of the companionship. The ability of a dog to be able to help with handicap situations as well established. Chris just by his comment as mentioned are very important area does the dog is helping. Regarding forward Mobility yes I think that is possible just looking at the training of the dogs and service for the blind. Combination of the abilities of dogs trained for service to the blind kind of shows the ability to help with forward Mobility. One possible source that may have the answer to your question would be one of the Parkinson foundations or similar Foundation which would s e e m s may be able to help. Wishing you well GP d a k
question was a service dog to do things you can not do for your self if i read it right. So far answers i see if the ESA now yes if you get one young enough to be trained they can be mostly for them needs of a physical you have to pay a trainer to do that for you there are many web sites also that can help if you registered them on your usa.( state you live in) register for fort animals. org
has to be the official state site which will cost money also plus a letter from a doctor. all trainers is on there also.
Now the bad part of any service dogs for psychical training you have to stick to the rules of it and not allow anyone to handle the dog but you. so be sure you will not gave in one day and expect the dog to behave on next day. I do not know about you but to me it was like raising children one day they get away with murder next day they had to follow rules again. so i know for me i would gave in.so mine are ESA dogs.
I have a self-trained ESA (Emotional Support Animal). She is a 1 1/2 yr old Australian Shepherd. She really helps when I get anxious and is a great companion when I’m alone. She has a vest and goes everywhere with me.
Yes I had a great 😃 🐈 but she,
Boots passed away after 13 years with me and I loved every minute of the day with her.
Cat's are nice to have on your
Lap.😃
I think that is a great idea, along with a cat.
