What is the point of an assisted dying bill that requires you to be terminally ill (within 6 months of death) AND requires you to be mentally sound to make the decision and take the required action unassisted?
This is going to rule out anyone with degenerative conditions. Alzheimer's takes your ability to be compos mentis long before it kills you. Multiple Sclerosis will remove your physical ability to take the medication well before six months. Parkinson's will probably manage to do both.

I experience this forum as a safe place to express my feelings, fears and beliefs.
Having said that and since I believe the same as you, I never experienced that you wanted to impose your belief on us.
With the dual diagnoses of PD and Bipolar I sometimes decent into a deep, dark, well of despair and become rebellious against God. So you see my question on chapter and verse is real!!
Since I have always sat opposite a counselor and was never in a situation where I had exposure to someone who lost a loved one to suicide, I never considered the issue of guilt.
This is how I experience this forum; everyone has something to share that will strengthen or enlighten someone else.

I know Ginny. There will always be people who need to be protected - from both sides. For instance I'd want my friends protected from investigation and possible prosecution. I truly hope that a system can be found that honours and protects both sides.
