These are some of the toughest symptoms for me. The Cleveland Clinic includes a Parkinson’s Psychiatrist. He worked on balancing meds for PD and meds for Depression. He also referred me to a counselor which has helped. Then your support group is critical. You need to always be moving forward so you need to find one or two trustworthy friends who you can reach out to when you are not progressing.

Depression and fatigue can be challenging symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Here are some key strategies that can help boost your energy and mood:

• Get moving with gentle exercise - try activities you enjoy like walking, swimming, or dancing
• Maintain a consistent daily routine
• Take short rest breaks when needed, but avoid long daytime naps
• Consider talking to your doctor about screening for depression and treatment options Exercise has been particularly helpful for many with Parkinson's. One MyParkinsonsTeam member shared that while they feel exhausted right after exercising, they feel energized about an hour later. They noted that exercise helped them cope better with depression and improved their quality of life.

Remember to start slowly and choose activities that you enjoy. Having an exercise partner can provide motivation and encouragement to push through initial fatigue. The benefits of regular movement often outweigh the temporary discomfort.
