Many community members shared that bathing or showering is one of the most exhausting parts of their day with Parkinson's, often leading to tremors, chills, excessive sweating, and the need to rest afterward. Several members offered helpful strategies like using tepid or cool water, showering at night, sitting on a bath chair or toilet seat to conserve energy, and installing grab bars for safety. A recurring theme was the deep comfort found in knowing others share these struggles, with members leaning on each other, caregivers, faith, and even their pets for support.

To anyone who is reading this chain may I suggest this.

Whether you have a caregiver or not. Be sure that you have grab bars in your bathroom, both by the toilet and the bathtub or shower.

If you don't, please call someone today and have some installed. They don't cost much and they're easy to install.

PD may not kill you, but a bad fall certainly can.

I like your reply. I have confidence in my doctor too but he only sees me 4 times a year and for 15 minutes. No one except us knows what we go through. Other than. GOD a n d my dog, I live alone, widowed, no children so only GOD and the dog loves me, that might not be true but I often do feel that way.
