I had DBS October 7, 2025.
It ha literally given me my life back. I am still taking my medication, but i'm taking less. I'm driving whenever I want.I don't have to be driven around anymore.I do have sight off periods.But they're not incapacitating that they were before the surgery.I still have the stiffness in my muscles, but we're still adjusting the stimulator. It's not a fix all but it did do wonders for me. I wish I had done it sooner i wish I'd been offered it much sooner because my symptoms had become uncontrollable. I never knew when I was gonna freeze up.So I had fear going into town. I would be at the store and have to sit in the parking lot for twenty or thirty minutes.For the medicine to kick in. So that I could drop back home . And it got to the point to where I feared to drive into town, which was just 3 miles, and I didn't want to drive anymore. I became very isolated and lonely at the house.Because I couldn't get out and go anywhere. I had a wheelchair ramo built because when I was rollater all the time. Now to just sit some collects dust along with my cane. Let me know if I can answer any more questions.
