Members responded with great empathy to the question about severe fatigue with Parkinson's, sharing that exhaustion is a very common and often overwhelming part of the disease. Several members described practical strategies that have helped, including building a strict daily routine, taking a true sleep nap of at least one hour in the afternoon, getting monthly B12 shots, and embracing rest rather than fighting it. A recurring theme was the importance of listening to your body, leaning on support systems, and finding small ways to cope each day.

I suffered from this for quite a while and finally found a Parkinson's article. A rest or nap without sleep does not help.
The comment was our body needs to recharge and at least a 1 hour sleep nap midday does this more effectively. Depending on my day I will sleep for one hour between 2 and 4 pm.
I was amazed when the body would let me sleep as truly needed. The vast majority of days it is 1hour 15 minutes, but there are longer naps as the body needs it sometimes as long as 3 hours.
This did not solve it after one day, Slowly changing my daily pattern to include a one hour nap after two weeks I noticed a change. My body decided how much sleep I needed not I. The naps no longer were everyday one hour but ranged from from 1 to 3 hours. The body decided what it needed.

Yes I had to darken the room, put soft music on and sleep on top of the covers.

Good luck to all and may today be better than yesterday if only by an inch.

My little experiment didn’t work. I am now very weak now. Parkinson’s has won again. I did notice more off times and an increase to stay in the bed. The only difference I discovered is that coffee is my new best friend, now my over all body has increased weakness and my center of gravity is worse. We shouldn’t try to go backwards with Parkinson’s. Happy thoughts to everyone…Gordon
