A couple days ago I asked about a balance issue, but today my husband and daughter told me that my falls were really associated with my Dyskinesia. Does anyone has suggestions?
might be worth you using a walking frame when your dyskinesia is playing up dbs definitely worth considering as most who have it can reduce the meds which stops dyskinesia.
This occurs after lying down or sitting for awhile. As soon as I get up it's excruciating to put my feet on the floor and walk. After approximately 60 seconds, I am fine. Last summer I went from walking 3 miles a day too barely hobbling along. It's still the same today and I don't know what to do about it. All thoughts and ideas appreciated as I am so puzzled by this. Not to mention gaining weight ☹️
Go to Invigoratedpt for additional information on exercise you can do at home for Parkinson’s
I have had PD for nearly nine years and remain as active as possible. The fatigue is increasing. My limbs seem to be getting weaker all the time. My hands have very little strength. . When I do too much the fatigue is such that I can barely move forward. I get slower and slower. When I sit I can barely get up and am hunched forward. In a few minutes I can begin to straighten out a bit. I need a lot more rest than I used to. I also have spasms at night. Does anyone else deal with this?
So.... how did you manage to improve on your sleep? Rgds
I have been bombarded with ads for all kinds of Parkinson’s treatments lately. Have you?Anybody try any of these Parkinson’s solutions? If so, what were your outcomes?
True. I got 2 of those S.A.D. Lights to help with sunlight deficiencies in the winter. Other than brightening up the room a bit it did nothing. One thing that did help was one of those stepper… read more
Has anyone purchased a Theracycle, I'm looking into one, although i'ts expensive, I've heard a couple good things about them. I have bad freezing and I'm told this would help. I appreciate your opinions.
Thank you,
Hal Cohen
Hal, I do many of the things other members of the community suggested but I also bought a refurbished OneStep recumbent buke and it helps strengthens my legs, helps renew muscle memory for alternating… read more
I always have a million things in the fire to do. But now I don’t have the energy to do anything. If I volunteer in the morning I sleep all afternoon. I teach paint parties now that I retired. I had a party last week for 27 people. I was literally in bed for four days afterwards. I keep looking around my home and there are things I need to do but don’t have the energy to get started.
Tired l the time. I have very limited energy.
Hi Bess
Thanks for the info. I will look into it as soon as I am able. Hope you had a great day today. Spent most of the day with my daughter and then we hung out watching shows we both liked.… read more
My husband was diagnosed in December at age 69. He has been going to the gym -- mostly walking on the treadmill and using the rowing machine. I'm wondering if there are specific exercises he should be doing and if a trainer would help. Thank you and warm wishes for your journey.
