This occurs after lying down or sitting for awhile. As soon as I get up it's excruciating to put my feet on the floor and walk. After approximately 60 seconds, I am fine. Last summer I went from walking 3 miles a day too barely hobbling along. It's still the same today and I don't know what to do about it. All thoughts and ideas appreciated as I am so puzzled by this. Not to mention gaining weight ☹️

Diagnosed in 2018, this just started about six months ago. Is leg pain, not cramps, but burning sharp pain?

I have had many falls. Only bad result so far (outside of bruising, soreness) is a broken rib. Chiro has me doing balance exercises next to a door/wall, standing on one leg at a time. PD exercise leader suggest wrapping/tightening leg and butt muscles as much as possible on the standing leg. Other leg is held off the ground/floor as long as you can maintain balance. Look straight ahead (I almost always look down.)
Does anyone have a way of balancing they'd like to share?
Got it; understood. And thanks, TeresaAnnBakerCarl!

What tips or advice can you give to someone suffering with Parkinson's who sometimes struggles to pickup a cell phone and struggle to input the initial screen unlock code? I have friends who say: "If you need help with anything just call." I find that an impossible task at times. Thoughts? Ideas? Tips? I guess I may have to become friends with Siri first for my iPhone.
We were talking about Alexa at our last local Parkinson's support group meeting. They say it's like having a third person in the house. My wife and I have been reluctant to go there yet as we don't… read more
